PLOT SUMMARY:

Light Yagami, a top in the nation honors high school student from Japan, witnesses a notebook fall from the sky. Perplexed where it came from he picks it up. Shortly appearing, a Shimigami (a God of Death) named Ryuk claims the notebook rules are all real: “The Human whose name is written in the Death Note shall die.” It doesn’t take long for the public to pick up on a mysterious perpetuator doing these string of inexplicable murders. In which they name him “Kira.” Many believing Kira sentencing justice to all who are evil in this world.

 

Light’s Father, Soichiro Yagami, the chief of the National Police Agency, and the head of the task force hunting Kira believes Kira is nothing more than a mass genocidal murderer; regardless of the evil being purged from the world. Realizing he and the task force are out of their depth on the Kira Case. They convene with the mysterious, smartest, and most unorthodox world famous detective “L”; having a strange fascination with the Kira Case. When Light becomes more bold in his killings, L marks his sights on Light, and will stop at nothing to end this injustice at all cost. In a wit vs wit chess game where people's lives are on the line only one thing remains in Light's & L's mind, "I AM JUSTICE!"
