ACT Award Show
As part of our upcoming Award Show, Art Centre Theatre (ACT) is planning to highlight local talent from Plano and the surrounding areas to create an unforgettable night while acknowledging everyone's devotion and hard work at ACT.
For those who'd like to, we would love for you to perform during the event. Whether it is a fun song, a scene from a play, a magic act, or any other talent you would like to show off, we would be thrilled to feature your performance.

Look Out, Snidely Smee a flamboyant, mustache-twirling scoundrel with more ambition than intelligence, is after the Gold! Can our Hero. When the suds finally settle, will the villains receive their just deserts? Will Dirk finally finds the courage to ask Daisy Belle to marry him—assuming he can get the words out without swallowing his tongue? Will the laundry ever get washed? Come find out in this rootin', Tootin' popcorn throwing melodrama that is sure to leave you with dirty laundry!

Seeking:
-- 15 or more (18+) all body types, ages, abilities, races, gender identities, new to theater or seasoned for a flexible-casting production. (please note your preferences for skit/song/dance/ burlesque/any when you audition)

What to Expect:
Fast paced sketch comedy, singing , dancing, burlesque, solo act ( IE: magic, drag, boylesque, juggling, tap dance, queerlesque, or other talent)

-- For Dance: Please bring a 1-minute movement piece or a 32-bar song video

Audition for a Touring Show

Qualifications to be in a Touring Show:
-
Every year ACT rounds up public, private, and home-school kids ages 12-18.
​
-
Interested parties should have reliable transportation, an open summer schedule, a pleasant nature, enjoy children and adults, and be willing to learn multiple scripts.
​

During the summer shows can run from 9 am till 2 pm M-F - this allows for a summer job after 2:00 or on weekends.
​
-
Auditionees need to bring a one-minute monologue and be prepared to answer random improv questions react to situations.
​
-
Spots are paid, but are subject to availability. Participants will be paid a split from the shows.
​

Auditionees must be able to pass a background check/drug test.
​
-
Those wishing to continue the tour schedule into the fall will have first dibs on spots.
​
-
Preference is given to those who can commit to being in the tour troupe for a full year, however, this is not mandatory.​
